Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Numbers 9:22
Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out.
O-bservation:
God had a plan for the Israelites to know when it was time to Stay and when it was time to Go. During the day, a Cloud would hover over the “Tent of Meeting” where Moses would meet with God, and during the night Fire would take its place. But when the cloud would lift, it was God’s signal to the people … “It’s time to pack up your tents and move out.”
A-pplication:
Finding the “Will of God” for your life is always an adventure. In my own life, whenever change is coming I will begin to feel a sense of uneasiness. I know that something is up. At that point I begin to look for the “Open Door.” My father-in-law used to say, “Son, when finding the ‘Will of God’ always take the Open Door.” I have found that if there’s no open door, then I’m already in the will of God and it was only a test from God, and the uneasiness passes. I’ve seen people kick a door open that was never meant to open for them, and they’re miserable for the rest of their lives. Remember, the open door may lead to hardship for a while, but there will be a calm settled peace that says, “I’m in the will of God and this adventure is stretching the borders of my faith.” The Israelites had a little bit more of a uniform way of knowing the will of God, but in the end … “They Knew And You Will Too!”
P-rayer:
More than anything today, I want to live in Your perfect will for my life. I want my faith stretched. I only want to trust fully in You! Amen
