Just Keep Saying It!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 56:4

In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

O-bservation:

Here was a man who was being chased by his enemies. He wasn’t just any man; he was the greatest King in Israel’s history—David. Fear had overwhelmed him so he began to confess the opposite. He said, “I’m not afraid,” and then he went on to say that his God is so powerful that nothing his enemies could say or do will be able to succeed against him.

A-pplication:

Sometimes the best thing you can do to a challenge is speak to it. When I was a small boy, we used to sing a song in kid’s church. “Be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, there’s a God up above looking down with arms of love, so be careful little eyes what you see.” David was afraid. So instead of going deeper into fear he spoke to his fear. He said he would not be afraid and that his God was with him. If that wasn’t enough, he said the same thing a few verses later in this chapter! David’s plan was to … “Just Keep Saying It!” Just like you can talk yourself into sin by telling yourself it’s okay and no one will know, I believe with God’s help you can talk yourself out of fear. Because words build faith or fear, and your actions follow your words. Talk faith today! Then … “Just Keep Saying It!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Because of Your care and concern over me, I will not be afraid today. Like I said … I will not be afraid today! Amen!
