Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Matthew 28:20b
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
O-bservation:
Jesus spoke these words shortly before He ascended back into heaven and unto his Father. He told His disciples that He wanted them to go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone. He told them they could do it because all authority had been given unto Him, and not to worry because … “He Would Always Be With Them.”
A-pplication:
This directive was not only for Jesus’ Disciples at that time, it is for EVERY Disciple for ALL time. Jesus concluded by saying, “I will always be with you until the end of the age.” That means Right Now and whatever future there is left before the return of Christ. This passage reminds me of Matthew 10, where Jesus sent His Disciples out to preach. In that chapter, Jesus minimized anything and everything His Disciples might need for their journey. Why? Because Jesus was always impressing upon his “Followers” that … HE alone (Jesus) … is enough! So, do everything along your journey to LIGHTEN your load instead of ADDING to your load. For instance: MONEY? Cut Back! BELONGINGS? Cut Back! INCREASING RESPONSIBILITY? Cut Back! OPINIONS? Cut Back! Which brings us to the MISSION that lies before YOU … “GO FOR IT!” Because … “He’s Always With YOU!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m realizing more and more, everyday, that what I really need more of is … YOU. I know You’re with me. Amen
