JESUS Saves, Blesses, Leads, and Carries His People

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 28:9

Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.

O-bservation:

There is a wonderful one-verse description of what Jesus does for His followers. It is discovered in a simple prayer King David prayed. He prayed, “Lord save us, bless us, lead us, and carry us as long as we live.”

A-pplication:

The work of Jesus can metaphorically best be described as that of a shepherd. From time to time, a shepherd will literally save one of his sheep from certain destruction. Indeed, that’s what Jesus has done for all of us who have surrendered our lives to Him. He has saved us. The shepherd also blesses the sheep by nurturing them, caring for them, and feeding them. Of course, Jesus our shepherd is our forever “PROVIDER!” His blessings are new every morning. The shepherd also leads His sheep. Where the shepherd goes, the sheep follow. They know His voice. He has saved them. He has provided for them, and naturally the sheep know who butters their bread. I’m hoping that’s why you follow Jesus. He has saved us, provided for us, and we know his voice. Sometimes, the sheep become wounded and the shepherd will carry them. I can’t count the times Jesus has carried me. If someone should ask you why you serve the Lord, just answer “Jesus Saves, Blesses, Leads, and Carries His People!”

P-rayer:

You are my ultimate Shepherd. I thank You that You have spared nothing when it comes to taking care of me. Amen
