Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Thessalonians 2:16,17
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
O-bservation:
This was Paul’s second letter to the young church he planted at Thessalonica, and it was filled with encouragement. He said that Jesus had been his greatest encourager and that he was now praying and prophesying over them that they would experience the same encouragement from Jesus that he himself had known.
A-pplication:
I can’t tell you how many times I have been let down by a friend or close associate who I thought would give me a word of encouragement. Has that ever happened to you? Perhaps you’ve gone the extra mile at work or in someone’s behalf. Instead of blessing you with a kind word of encouragement, they say something that causes you to believe they’re questioning your motives. Instead of leaving blessed, you feel discouraged. I know, I’ve been there. However, when everyone else lets you down … “Jesus Is Our Encourager!” And He’s always there. He’s not our encourager just for today, or a given special event, he’s there ALL THE TIME! King David said, “But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the one who lifts my head high” (Ps. 3:3). “Jesus Is Our Encourager!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m thankful that when everyone else walks out … You stay right beside me! You really are “My Encourager!” I’m Blessed. Amen
