He WAS And Still IS

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Revelation 11:17a

We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was.

In his vision on the Isle of Patmos some two thousand years ago, John the Beloved had a Revelation of things to come. At one point he saw the 24 Elders in heaven fall on their knees and begin to worship the Lord saying, “He WAS And Still IS!”

There’s no way to adequately describe someone (GOD) who is simply indescribable. The Elders in the book of Revelation could only acknowledge that the Lord is ever present right now, and has ALWAYS been! Most nonbelievers would think that this kind of talk is complete foolishness. However, the very fact that our God has always existed without a beginning and yet is present with us as I write is what gives us faith to carry on. The kinds of challenges in our present experience on this planet seem insurmountable and unending. Yet, we know that our great God has everything under control! Because “He WAS And Still IS!”

Dear Jesus,

This AM I will not try and fathom Your history since it has no beginning. Help me instead, like the Elders in this passage, to simply kneel before You and praise Your name. Amen
