Even If It Kills Me

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Revelation 12:11b

They did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

John the Beloved saw in his vision a group of Warriors who rejoiced when Satan was cast down out of heaven. They were so committed to Jesus that they lived with a mentality that said, “Even If It Kills Me, I’ll follow Jesus.”

I don’t see this kind of commitment in my country very much. I see young people who really want to have FUN praising Jesus and hanging out. But to say, “I’ll follow Jesus Even If It Kills Me.” I don’t see much of that. What has happened? I’d say “Too Much” has happened. Too much free time. Too much ease. Too much live and let live. Too much me, myself, and I. Too much in the way of options. It’s just Too Much. And when this is a way of life, the idea of dying for any cause is met with massive rejection. It’s understandable when elders don’t teach that kind of commitment. It’s also understandable when Jesus is made to be one of many ways to God. But let me say, I remember confessing as a young man, “Jesus I’ll follow You Even If It Kills Me.” I haven’t changed.

Dear Jesus,

I’m with You 100%! Even If It Kills Me! Amen
