Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 8:1
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.
O-bservation:
The previous verse tells us that the rain had been pouring out of the heavens, worldwide, for one hundred and fifty days! Can you imagine that kind of worldwide, torrential downpour? Consequently, the entire planet was covered with water. All of humankind had been destroyed, along with the animals, save for the animals in the Ark and Noah’s family. The scripture here says GOD REMEMBERED NOAH!
A-pplication:
To think that in my lifetime, the world’s population has exceeded seven billion people is astounding. Yet this story tells us that God, with a severe rainstorm, left the world with just one family in it. That family was Noah’s. Before the one-hundred-and-fifty-day rainstorm God sent, He had told Noah and his family, along with the animals, to go into the ark of safety. They did. Then the rains came. Worldwide havoc existed on the planet for one hundred and fifty days. You might think that one little ship battling the elements for five months would have been lost. But the scripture says GOD REMEMBERED NOAH! Noah was the only righteous man left on the earth. If your personal pursuit is for the Lord, always remember, “God Will Never Forget You!” Even if you’re somewhere on the planet in a boat all by yourself.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m reminded that there has never been one day in my life when I did not think that you had me in mind. Some people may think that’s presumptuous on my part, but YOU ARE MY GOD! You know all people and have the hairs on our head counted. Thanks for thinking of me. Amen
