What Does God Say?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Haggai 2:19

Is there yet any seed left in the barn? Until now, the vine and the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not borne fruit. “‘From this day on I will bless you.’”

O-bservation:

After 70 years of captivity in Babylon, the King of Persia began releasing the people of Israel to go back home. Initially, about 50,000 Israelites headed back in 536 BC. Sixteen years later, the Prophet Haggai arrived on the scene. Why? Because work had stopped on the rebuilding of the temple as a result of local threats. In fact everything had slowed down for the Israelites. The seed in the barns hadn’t even been planted. Haggai challenged them to take care of the Lord’s House first and victory would follow. Most of all, they heard the Lord say to them … “From this day on, I will bless you!”

A-pplication:

How many times have you heard the negative uttered in you ears? How many times have you heard people tell you “It’s Over?” If you’re like me and hear a treat or a gauntlet thrown down, you have a tendency to run. But after the myriad of voices have had their shot at you, every “Follower of Jesus” should have one more question … “What Does God Say?” Once you hear HIM say, “From this day on I will bless you,” it’s a whole new ballgame!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

All I can say this AM is I hear You talking, and that’s all I need! Amen
