Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Micah 7:18

Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.

O-bservation:

Here we see the Prophet Micah standing back and giving praise to our great God at the end of his prophecy. Micah saw the mess all around him. He saw the consequences of Israel’s sin and had prophesied her punishment, but he also saw God’s forgiveness and willingness to bring Israel back into prominence.

A-pplication:

Micah was right. There is no God like our wonderful Lord! When I was little, I would mess up or disobey and my Father would discipline me. He was never smiling when he disciplined me. In fact, a couple of times he cried over me, but my Father loved me too much to stay upset with me. Within minutes he would say, “Hey Rich you want to go get some ice cream, or you want to go play catch?” Discipline is a part of love, but it’s never at the heart of love. What’s at the heart of love is love. God shows us love over and over again, and it just never ends. Undeniably sin carries its own wallop, but if we are truly repentant the next thing we hear out of God’s heart is something like, “Hey, you wanna get some ice cream?” He just doesn’t stay angry. Really … “Who Is A God Like You?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m always amazed by You! Your love just keeps coming. The hard parts of my life I usually create for myself, but Your love is unstoppable. Thank You, thank You, thank You for never stopping! Amen
