Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Micah 4:7
I will make the lame my remnant, those driven away a strong nation. The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion from that day and forever.
O-bservation:
Some believe this word from the Lord through the Prophet Micah has to do with the end of human government and the beginning of the government of the “Kingdom of God” here on earth. Still others believe the verse refers to the coming of the Christian Faith to the earth through Jesus, hundreds of years after this prophecy was given. Either way, the power of our Jesus is His great love for the down and out, the poor, and the broken. In other words, if you’re one of the “UNDERDOGS … Guess Who’s On Your Side?”
A-pplication:
The Gospel of Jesus Christ never leaves anyone out. Jesus accepts all sinners, losers, weaklings, and even lousy bullies. Jesus was not only God at birth; He was also the offspring of the house and lineage of King David. At the beginning of his rise to power, David took a group of men who were in trouble, buried in debt, with bad attitudes (1 Samuel to 2:2), and turned them into the most powerful nation on earth at that time. Sound familiar? That’s exactly what Jesus does for all of us who the world would call “UNDERDOGS.” Jesus is not concerned today that you don’t measure up in the eyes of those around you. No! He simply says to all of us, “Come to me all who labor and are heavy burdened and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28, paraphrase). In other words, Jesus is saying, “Bring all your mess-ups to me and I’ll turn them into a message!” So hey, all you “UNDERDOGS … Guess Who’s On Your Side?” You got it! JESUS!!
P-rayer:
