Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Genesis 3:1

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

O-bservation:

One day, in the Garden of Eden, Eve, the wife of Adam, was asked by the serpent if God had really said, “You must not eat of any tree in the garden’?” When the serpent (devil) asked this question, it was the first time in history that humankind had ever experienced “DOUBT.”

A-pplication:

Up until this time in history, there had never been a temptation by the devil towards Adam or Eve. They didn’t know what temptation was. Until this point in their lives, they never really had been tested. And, here on this first-ever temptation by the enemy, they failed. Their failure impacted the entirety of the human race right up to this present time. How did it happen? It happened with the introduction by the devil of this one word: DOUBT. Everything we do each day requires FAITH that we can accomplish another day of living. But, the enemy of our soul has a weapon, and it is the antithesis of FAITH. The word I’m speaking of is DOUBT! Once DOUBT enters the door, our FAITH is tested. This is a slippery slope. Why? Because it’s only by testing that we grow and mature. At the same time, should we fail the question arises, “Will the failure bury us, or will it help to make us?” Join me today in being vigilant in our faith and ready for any test the enemy may present us. With the Lord’s help, we will overcome.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m reminded this AM that it is not by might, neither is it by power, but it is by Your Spirit that we are able to overcome the attacks of the devil’s “DOUBT!” Amen
