Don’t Judge Me

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 143:2

Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you.

O-bservation:

King David both loved and feared God. He chased hard after the Lord, but at the same time he was terrified by God’s power. That’s probably why he approached God with a request. He begged God … Please … “Don’t Judge Me.” No one can stand up under Your scrutiny.

A-pplication:

Before I go any further, let me remind you that we, as “Followers of Jesus,” live under the Grace of God as opposed to the continual “Judgment of God.” But let me ask you, “Have you ever been so terrified after having messed up that you believed God Himself was really going to hammer you?” I have. It’s in those times, like David, I’ve begged God not to judge me. All of us mess up. That’s what happens while growing up. Some grow up before others. In the meantime, while we do our best to measure up, remember that Jesus told us we should forgive 70×7! (Mt. 18:22) If Jesus asks that of you and me, certainly He’s willing to DO THAT for you and me. So from now on, let go of … “Don’t Judge Me” in lieu of “Please Forgive Me.” Please don’t worry … “Jesus has your back.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I am blessed this AM to know that You are for me not against me. I’m also blessed to simply ask Your forgiveness instead of begging You not to judge me. I’m Yours, ALL of me. Amen
