God’s Greater Joy

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

3 John 1:4

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

O-bservation:

Once again, in John’s final of three letters, his “Father’s Heart” is evident. We doubt that he was married with children, but as an aged Apostle his greatest joy was seeing members of the “Early Church,” which he referred to as “His Children,” walk in the “Ways of Jesus.”

A-pplication:

From my own personal experience, my “Greatest Joy” was and still is seeing my children follow Jesus wholeheartedly. There were times as a Father that my heart broke when they decided to walk in error. However, by the Grace of God, each one of them learned from their mistakes and walks with Jesus today. Many parents who are “Followers of Jesus” have experienced something similar. We’re sad when they mess up and we’re overjoyed when they live for Jesus. If we mortals have such feelings and emotions, then consider the Broken and the Joyful Heart of God the Father when He looks upon us. He’s sad when we mess up and joyful when we walk in His truth. I want to be one of the “Earthly Children,” that contributes to … “God’s Greater Joy.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I don’t want to walk in error or darkness today. It’s my desire to walk in Your TRUTH and bring You … “Greater Joy.” Amen

SOAP was once again what I needed to hear today (this time I desperately needed it). I woke up with chest pains because I went to sleep last night after receiving 2 pieces of bad news. Your message brought me back into God’s presence and back to his truth. Rich, please pray for me. I will pray for you and your family as well. Thank you for SOAP!

Our topic at my church is about holiness, to move away from deceivers. So this devotional ithad a great impact on me as it also advices me not to leave in error before Christalways stay in light and not in darkness and it is a very difficult decision l have taken to stay away from sin, God is certainly backing me up on this decision because on my own its not possible to make it.
