Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 3:6
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
O-bservation:
This is the wonderful story of Peter and John, who were going one day to the Temple to pray. As they passed the “Gate Beautiful,” the same beggar who had been there for years asked them for money. He had been crippled from the time of his birth. Peter answered the lame man by saying, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I freely give you.” Then he commanded the man to rise up and walk in Jesus’ name. The man jumped up and walked perfectly!
A-pplication:
Sometimes I think, we think, money can buy anything, cure anything, and provide whatever we need. I have a close friend who has traded most of his cash for gold and silver because he believes our money is going to be worthless very soon. Perhaps he’s right. At the same time, I would ask this question: Can money heal a broken relationship now that she’s with someone else? Can money bring a son back who was lost in the war? Can money cure the cancer that’s raging right now? Money sure couldn’t cure the lame man’s legs. But thank God for Jesus! He healed the crippled man that day and He’s able to mend the broken hearted and deliver from disease today. I’m happy to report to you this AM there is something … “Better Than Gold Or Silver.” His name is JESUS!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m thankful this AM that when my money runs dry You never do. And You always provide me with more than enough. Amen
