Salvation And Trouble

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 37:39

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

O-bservation:

One of the most endearing character traits of King David was his relentless acknowledgement of God as his SALVATION! As usual, David says if we are willing to lean in The Lord’s direction He will save us. He continues by saying, “The Lord is our STRONGHOLD when TROUBLE comes our way.”

A-pplication:

“Salvation And Trouble” need each other. I know that sounds counterproductive, but think about it. Are we SAVED from nothing? You can’t really be SAVED unless you’re in TROUBLE of some sort. When I was a young boy, there were many times I felt like I was in trouble and out of nowhere my father would appear and save me from the trouble I was in. Some time ago, after being out of college for forty years, I decided to go back to school. I was working on my Master’s Degree and had no understanding of the accepted form for which my written assignments were to be presented. Oh yes, I had a book that taught everything we needed to know. But what I needed was a coach. Thank God I found a good coach! I was in TROUBLE and she SAVED me. I’m sure David was talking about a far more important salvation than these brief examples. The King said that when you’re in spiritual Trouble, the kind that desires to drag your soul to hell, the Lord will be your Stronghold in the time of Trouble. And He Will Be Your SALVATION! Don’t worry over “Salvation And Trouble” again. God’s got you!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I woke up this AM with a sense of trouble all around. I realize that You are my Savior from all kinds of trouble! Thank you! Amen!!!
