Young And Full Of Character

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Timothy 4:12

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

O-bservation:

The instruction from the Apostle Paul to young Timothy, his disciple, was that he was not to let anyone belittle him because of his youthful age. At the same time, he was to be an example in the way he spoke, acted, loved, moved in faith, and he was to keep himself morally pure. The emphasis here is that to be respected as a young adult one has to elevate their character to unusual heights and depths in their Christian living.

A-pplication:

Eighty-five percent of all Christians in the world accept Christ before they are 20 years of age! That means that in most cases they are being influenced toward Jesus by parents or other young adults their age. So when Paul told Timothy, “don’t let anybody put you down because of your age,” he was telling him that he would have a VOICE to his generation. However, in order to have that VOICE of influence, he would have to live beyond the rest in the category of Character and Integrity. In my travels, here’s what I see … I see a generation of people who are … “Young and Full of Character.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You that in every generation You have people like Timothy, who are “Young and Full of Character.” Amen
