Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 127:1
Unless The Lord builds the house the builders labor in vain. Unless The Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
O-bservation:
The rest of this chapter has to do with the family. So it’s obvious that King David is telling us that as parents we must let The Lord help us lay a solid spiritual foundation for our children, who make up the HOME we are endeavoring to build. There must be walls that keep out spiritual predators and a roof built to shield the family from Hell’s elements raining down on the household. God must also be the BUILDER and “Chief Protector” of our cities and neighborhoods because any other form of protection is meaningless without The Lord.
A-pplication:
We parents are “THE WHEEL” that gives direction to our children, but unless God’s hands are on us … “THE WHEEL” … steering it, then in time a “CRASH” is imminent. City leaders can try and hire enough policemen and bureaucrats to help protect us and carry out humankind’s best-made policies, but unless The Lord has been sought after to watch over us and protect us … then, let the wars begin. If you really want to develop a family that will withstand the onslaughts of HELL then … You Need A Good BUILDER” … We know who that is.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You that the times I’ve tried to steer “THE WHEEL” You gently replaced my hands with Yours. Our family is good because of it. Amen
