Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Proverbs 14:23
All hard work brings a profit. But mere talk leads only to poverty.
O-bservation:
The wise man Solomon, at the time of this writing, was building the Temple in Jerusalem for “Almighty God.” Over 180,000 laborers were used for this massive seven-year undertaking. Solomon knew first hand what “Hard Work” could produce.
A-pplication:
I’ve often heard the line used … “He TALKS a good game.” This is a line used to describe a person who is good at promoting their ideas or desired business plan, but who can’t produce on their promises. “Workin Or Just Talkin?” That’s always been the question. I drive through the streets of my city during the workweek and often see lots of people on the streets. Many of them are just “Hanging Out,” TALKIN. They’ve got visions and dreams and ideas. But every dream, vision, and idea has to have a place from which to launch. That place is called WORK! Work brings discipline, character, and an understanding of authority. All of these are essential for building a great life, family, business, or church. WORK! Every great “Work Place” has a series of designated “break times,” during the workday. These times are set aside for “TALKIN.” But then … “Back To Work!” Just TALKIN brings poverty but WORKIN brings profit. It’s your decision today.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for the gift of WORK. I don’t want to be a Good Talker, I really want to be a GREAT WORKER! Help Me! Amen
