Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
In this passage, the “Great Apostle” gives a key ingredient to evangelism and church growth. He says, “Don’t ever let up on your energy level. Keep totally fervent in your service unto God.”
I often find a lack of energy in churches that are suffering decline. When energy and excitement begin to sag in one’s relationship, with Jesus it becomes Unattractive. Think of the young man who is fit and in shape, ready for athletic endeavor. Now think of that same young man who has been wearied by the years, and has allowed his once fit physique to go unexercised, over fed, and under disciplined. Gravity, in time, anchors that once fit, energized, attractive person to a solitary immovable chair. Excess weight begins to bulge over the armrest of the chair as sleep sets in. All attraction is now gone. Friends also begin to fall away, and the potential of new friends is unattainable because of the grotesque, sleepy human, now stuck to the chair. This is what some Churches and even More Believers look like to potential customers. Whatever you have to do to get your energy back … Do It! “Your ENERGY Is Attractive!”
If You let me live to be a hundred, please let my friends catch me doing jumping jacks and praying just before I preach. Amen
