Some Won’t Listen, But Just Keep LEADING Anyway

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Exodus 16:20a

However, some of them paid no attention to Moses.

O-bservation:

The Israelites were very upset with Moses and Aaron because there was no food to eat. It got to the point that they wanted to go back to Egypt. God told Moses He would send manna from heaven and the manna came! Moses told the people to only take what they needed for the day, but some “Didn’t Listen” and took more than enough. By morning the excess manna was covered with maggots and smelled.

A-pplication:

If you fashion yourself as a leader in any way, be encouraged today. Moses, who was arguably the greatest leader who ever lived, couldn’t get all the Israelites to listen to his instructions even in their happiest of times. They had been MAD at Moses and Aaron because there wasn’t anything to eat in the desert. Now, after God’s supply, they were HAPPY because there was too much to eat. Even then a group of people still wouldn’t wait long enough for the instructions from Moses on how to store the food. A couple of verses later, they failed to listen again and now God was angry with them (vs. 27, 28). Here’s my point. If God and Moses couldn’t get everyone’s attention when they were happy, why should you get upset because one of your workers failed to clean up the mailroom? It’s always going to be true … “Some Won’t Listen, But Just Keep LEADING Anyway”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for being the best example of a leader I could ever have. And thank You for giving me the encouragement I need to Just Keep Leading.
