Why Not You Too?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

O-bservation:

With these words, God is calling a young Jeremiah to fulfill his role as a prophet to the nations. He tells him He knew him before he was born, and He set Jeremiah apart even then for a great purpose.

A-pplication:

Certainly this was the direct call of the Almighty God of Israel upon young Jeremiah to be a prophet. There is no denying this fact. However, how do you read it? Why is this prophecy not for you? Every “Follower of Jesus,” be they male or female, can read this prophecy to Jeremiah and say, “I know God knew me in my mothers womb.” They can also say, “I believe God loved me so much that He set me apart for something special.” Most of all, we’ve all been called to go into all the world and preach the gospel, so “I believe God has called me as a prophet to the nations.” I believe each one of these things has happened to me in my lifetime, in a LIMITED way. So, “Why Not You Too?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m thankful You still call Prophets today. Amen
