S. O. A. P
Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 75:7
It is God who judges: He brings one down, He exalts another.
O-bservation:
The writer does not skirt the issue in this matter and simply says it is God who does the judging. He brings one person down (obviously through the person’s own arrogance) and lifts another person up.
A-pplication:
Often times, people stand back in awe at the fall of one person, or the rise of another, and ask … “How did that happen?” Others actually believe that a boss, or a friend, or a family member was the reason for one person’s falling from a lofty place, or another person rising to an even loftier position. But make no mistake about it, if you don’t think God is a micro-manager … Think Again! Our God is behind every little detail of our lives. He’s watching, caring, brooding, lifting, crushing, delighting, or weeping over every little variance of movement we make. And when you wonder … “Who brought that woman down? She was powerful!” Or … “How did that little peanut arrive at such a huge position in life? Who made that happen?” … “Who Do YOU Think?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You today that I live in peace because You have shown me who the judge behind it all really is. You are the ultimate micro-manager of my life. I am Yours and I’m happy that I am. Amen
