Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Jesus spelled out the dilemma all mortals are challenged with. Two great forces vie for our allegiance. One is money, and the other is God Almighty. It’s odd to think that those are the two choices Jesus acknowledged, but it’s true. So when it comes to you and me, the question will always be, “Which One?”
King Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, said, “Money is the answer to all things” (Ecc. 10:19). Yet Jesus places money as the other “god” that seeks our total surrender. Money is always on people’s minds. They can never get enough of it, and the more they have, the more they want. Compare that with a desire for Almighty God. Is He part of your daily moment by moment thought process? Is He the one that gets you out of bed in the morning? Is He your first and last and every minute of the day thought pattern? Sometimes I think when it comes to us and our affections, “Poor God!” But regardless of what I think, it’s still your choice. God or Money? “Which One?”
I admit money is a pull, but I settled that a long time ago. You’re my everything. Amen
