What’s Your Life Worth?
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.
St. Paul was facing the “home stretch” of his ministry on earth. He had been through good times and bad times, but NOW he had the end in sight. He said, “I have one final goal, and that is to finish the task the Lord gave me.” He prefaced these remarks with the words, “I don’t really consider my life to be worth much of anything.”
Here was a man who was “Caught Up With Jesus.” These words remind me of a much more recent Follower of Jesus, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King remarked the night before he was killed, “But it really doesn’t matter with me now (what man could or could not do to him), because I’ve been to the mountaintop.” When you’re Caught Up With Jesus, and have a love for Jesus and the Kingdom of our Lord, your life takes on new meaning. Life is only valuable based on our ability to finish the task God has given each one of us. Whether you say, “my life doesn’t mean that much to me” or “it really doesn’t matter that much to me anymore,” both are an indication of people who are Caught Up With Jesus. There was a time that I had to make something happen. I remember the need to leave a mark. But in the ensuing years since, I’ve seen that my own life only has real merit when I’m fulfilling the task Jesus put me here to accomplish. Life’s worth is measured in following Jesus’ will for my life. “What’s Your Life Worth?”
I’m thankful this AM to be “Caught Up With You.” I’m thankful that my life’s purpose is in following Your will for my life! Amen
