Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Numbers 20:12

But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”

O-bservation:

Earlier in this same story, The Lord had told Moses, “Take your staff and speak to the rock and it will pour water out before the people’s eyes,” because the people had been complaining against Moses and Aaron. Instead, Moses hit the rock with his staff. The waters poured out, but God was displeased with Moses and Aaron for not doing as He had commanded. He told them they would not lead the people into the Promised Land.

A-pplication:

You’ve just read “What A Fit Of Rage Can Do!” Moses and Aaron were good men. Moses, of course, was perhaps the greatest leader in the history of the world save our blessed Savior. Yet at what appeared to be just another rebellion on the part of the people, we find Moses blowing up and disobeying the Lord’s command. With greater responsibility comes greater accountability. Moses forgot that and let his anger against the people run wild. Because of his disobedience, not only he but his brother Aaron as well were kept out of the Promised Land. How does that impact you and me? Well in my estimation I think it illustrates “What A Fit Of Rage Can Do.” Because of this real life story, we should thank the Lord and say, “Jesus keep me near the Cross today and every day.”

Dear Jesus,

Help me today to keep my emotions intact. You’re the one who has given me the power of the Holy Spirit to do just that. With all of my heart, I yield to You again today. Amen
