His Timetable Not Mine

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 40:1

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.

O-bservation:

Often when one reads the words of King David they are written in haste, with a sense of desperation, as if to say … “God I can’t wait another minute, I’m in trouble!” But here David says he actually waited patiently for the Lord, and that in good time … God heard his cry.

A-pplication:

I suppose the big question is … “Does God always know what’s going on with me, and if He does why doesn’t He do something?” Of course the answer always has to do with “Timetable Perspective.” My perspective on my timetable coupled with my emergency is far different from God’s. My perspective is PUNY. God’s perspective is INFINITE. Consequently, God’s answer based on timetables should always be left to the One who has “Infinite Perspective.” But the dilemma we humans face lies in the original question posed. It comes down to the fact that we must believe that God does know our situation and He is doing something about it based upon His “Infinite Perspective.” That’s why, today, I’ll choose once again … “His Timetable Not Mine.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Today, like David, I will wait “Patiently.” Because I know when it’s the right time You will hear my cry. Amen
