Things Are Not As Bad As They Appear

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Jeremiah 5:1

“Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem, look around and consider, search through her squares. If you can find but one person who deals honestly and seeks the truth, I will forgive this city.

O-bservation:

Jerusalem had so turned its back on the Lord that God said to Jeremiah, “Go all over the city. Search it. Comb the streets, and if you can find one honest person who is truly seeking truth, I will forgive the whole city!”

A-pplication:

God told Abraham that He would spare the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah if he could find 10 righteous people living there. Abraham couldn’t find the TEN, and I doubt that Jeremiah found the ONE either. But here’s a more positive spin on both stories. I remember reading about Elijah telling God that he was the last man on the planet who loved the Lord. God reminded Elijah that he had 7,000 people who had not bowed a knee to Baal. My point is this … sometimes, “Things Are Not As Bad As They Appear.” Today I hear Preachers and Prophets and the like say that things are WORSE than they’ve ever been. But I say … Read your history. There have been many times in history where things are worse than they are right now. I live in a country where every week hundreds of thousands of churches proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. So before you run for the hills, remember other times in history. “Things Are Not As Bad As They Appear.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’d be kidding myself if I wasn’t honest in saying that I’m very concerned about the sin that is going on all around me. However, this AM I want to thank You for all the great things You are doing around the world! Amen

Thank you for a positive word. I’m so perturbed in my spirit with all the negativity going forth from the Christian community. So again, THANK YOU RICH for a powerful and positive word to start a new week! Blessings on both you and Robin for the great work you’re doing!
