The PROVEN Way

S. O. A. P

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Jeremiah 6:16a

This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

O-bservation:

Jerusalem was under siege at this time and things were not looking good for the people of God. But the truth is, they were their own worst enemy. They continuously chose to go after gods of stone and wood, like those the heathen nations served. God spoke to them in this passage and said, “When you come to a fork in the road, take The Proven Way.” Ask people around you which is the best way to go. And if you will follow it, you will find peace and rest.

A-pplication:

More often than not, in our time of frustration or dilemma we do our best to build a new brand or find a new road to journey on to a seeming solution. There seems to be a thought lodged in our assumptions that says “NEW” is always better. But God specifically tells us in this verse to look for The Proven Way. Look for the way that has worked before. In fact don’t be ashamed to ask someone, “Hey what should I do here?” Asking someone who has been on The PROVEN Way before is an act of humility. And God always honors a “Humble Heart.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Once again I need You to show me very clearly The PROVEN Way. I don’t know how I arrive at so many forks in the road, but here I am again. HELP! Amen
