Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 14:5b
For God is present in the company of the righteous.
O-bservation:
David is on somewhat of a Holy rant throughout the entirety of this chapter. He is crying for a move of God among the people of Israel. Here he states firmly that God finds His pleasure in “The Company Of The Righteous.”
A-pplication:
You and I both know that God is omnipresent. There is no place that He isn’t at the very same time! However, the question is where does He find pleasure? Certainly not in the presence of His inanimate creation. Probably not so much in the presence of the animals He’s created. He loves His creation, but there isn’t much of a relationship with stars and moons and basic planets so much. Dogs and other animals in some cases are friendly, but have no will. People are where God finds His greatest pleasure, but those who continually curse His name leave Him with a feeling of rejection. The ones who touch the heart of God the most are in, “The Company Of The Righteous.” Daily I ask the Lord to draw me closer into “The Company Of The Righteous.” I want to be where the Lord finds His greatest pleasure.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m asking You to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. It is my desire to be where You are. Please draw me close to “The Company Of The Righteous.” Amen
