Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Exodus 25:2

Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.

O-bservation:

These were the words of the Lord to Moses concerning His command for the people to give to Him. He said that Moses was to receive an offering from everyone whose heart prompted them to give.

A-pplication:

I have a couple thoughts concerning this passage that I’ve tried to put into practice in my own life. First, we as leaders never take “OFFERINGS” or tithe from the people. We are to RECEIVE OFFERINGS from the people. Second, the Lord was not speaking about the TITHE here, which is given whether we feel like it or not. The third idea is that OFFERINGS are a matter of the heart. There are times I’ll see a homeless man or woman when driving down the road and I feel prompted in my heart to give, other times I feel nothing! When I feel to give from my heart I do, when I don’t feel my heart move me I don’t. That works in every kind of potential offering. I know people whose OFFERINGS outweigh their tithes because they have the gift of giving, as referenced in Romans 12:8. I have found my greatest rewards in life have come when I’ve given OFFERINGS because the Holy Spirit prompted me in my heart to give.

Dear Jesus,

I’m so honored to be a “Follower Of Jesus” this AM and every AM. Thank You for prompting me to give. I’m blessed because You do. Amen
