S-cripture:

Exodus 29:45

Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.

O-bservation:

Through the prophet Moses, the Lord had given the instructions for the setting up of the mobile tabernacle in the wilderness to the people of Israel. This tabernacle would house the “Holy of Holies.” Every location within and outside of the tabernacle was established, and each was defined so all understood what each destination represented. Then the priests’ clothing and vestments were described and the meaning of each piece explained. Finally, the Lord told the people how to take care of their priest financially. When all of that was put in place to ensure the Almighty was never forgotten in Israel, the Lord said, “Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.”

A-pplication:

The above information has to do with establishing ongoing worship in the “wilderness dwelling” of the Israelite nation. God said to Moses, and to the people who were wondering when God would dwell among them, “When you have firmly established an earthly residence that I may dwell in, to the specifications I’m instructing, ‘That’s When’ I will make my dwelling place among you.” The New Testament sanctuary is not a building. It’s a person’s heart. God spoke through the apostles in Acts 7:48 and said that He doesn’t dwell in houses made by human hands. He then said in Ephesians 3:16-17 that it’s His will that the Holy Spirit would strengthen our inner being so Christ can dwell in our hearts. Friend, if you’re wondering today what to do to make sure Jesus dwells with you, make sure you prepare your heart and mind through confession and repentance and strengthening by the Holy Spirit. “That’s When” His presence will never leave you.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I don’t need a building to find you. I only need you to help me keep my heart pure and ready through the power of the Holy Spirit so You may dwell within me. Amen
