Don’t Send Them Away

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Matthew 14:16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

O-bservation:

Thousands of people had been listening to Jesus teach all day and it was getting late. The disciples suggested sending them home because they needed to eat. Jesus said, "Don't Send Them Away."

A-pplication:

It's usually the desire of we humans to push the needs of other humans away from our immediate care. I'm not trying to make a big point as much as just stating a fact. The challenge is to get involved and stay involved in people's lives until a real need has been met. The disciples were doing what most of us would have done. BUT ... Jesus wanted to establish the "Golden Rule" again. He knew He would like to be fed, so He figured He'd do for them what He'd like someone to do for Him. He told His disciples to feed them. In other words, "Don't Send Them Away." As we all know, if we'll do our part Jesus will do His part. And that's how the 5,000 were fed.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Help me to never send another person away ever again! Amen

They Can’t Take My Hope Away!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Job 17:11,12 My days have passed, my plans are shattered. Yet the desires of my heart turn night into day; in the face of the darkness light is near.

O-bservation:

Here is Job, one of the most powerful men of his day, after having lost it ALL, telling us all, "You Can't Take My Hope Away!"

A-pplication:

Certainly few people in history have suffered as Job suffered. In a matter of moments, he lost all ten of his children to death. He lost all of his wealth and properties. His wife told him to quit and curse God and die after he had been covered with sores on his body. Three friends came to tell him why this was happening, and of course they were critical of him. BUT … Job still had HOPE! Whatever you may have lost, remember there's still a ray of hope. Yes, I'm speaking to you! There's still hope or you wouldn't still be breathing. God's not finished with you yet. They couldn't make Job curse his God, and they won't be able to get you to either because they "Can't Take Your Hope Away!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Sometimes in my life I've only had a ray of Hope, but here I am. I'm still alive, still going, still believing for greater things! Thank You for my Hope! Amen
