Don’t Send Them Away

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Matthew 14:16

Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

O-bservation:

Thousands of people had been listening to Jesus teach all day and it was getting late. The disciples suggested sending them home because they needed to eat. Jesus said, “Don’t Send Them Away.”

A-pplication:

It’s usually the desire of we humans to push the needs of other humans away from our immediate care. I’m not trying to make a big point as much as just stating a fact. The challenge is to get involved and stay involved in people’s lives until a real need has been met. The disciples were doing what most of us would have done. BUT … Jesus wanted to establish the “Golden Rule” again. He knew He would like to be fed, so He figured He’d do for them what He’d like someone to do for Him. He told His disciples to feed them. In other words, “Don’t Send Them Away.” As we all know, if we’ll do our part Jesus will do His part. And that’s how the 5,000 were fed.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Help me to never send another person away ever again! Amen
