Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
The analogy that King David draws within this passage is so powerful, and even more so if you have actually traveled to the Holy City. Jerusalem itself sits on a hill and is completely “Surrounded” all around by mountains. The mountains really do surround Jerusalem! And that is the picture David was drawing. Whatever position a “Follower of Jesus” finds himself or herself in, whether on the Mountaintop or in a Valley, we are “Surrounded” by the Lord.
To be “Surrounded” by the Lord is to imply that ALL of heaven’s resources are directed at YOU. Perhaps this AM you are at the end of your rope financially and don’t know where your next “BUCK” is coming from. Let me remind you … Your God has you … “Surrounded.” Maybe your daughter was recently diagnosed with an incurable disease and you’ve prayed and you’re crying right now! Wait … don’t forget … You are … “Surrounded!” Could it be that you have been falsely accused to the point that you can’t possibly defend yourself anymore? The ETERNAL God of the universe … Your God, my God … Has you … “Surrounded.” It’s going to turn around in your favor. The Lord will dispose of your enemies or lift you out of your present situation (1 Cor. 10:13). Believe it today. He’s got YOU! You’re … “SURROUNDED!”
Sometimes my life is so up-and-down that it blesses me to know this AM that You have me “SURROUNDED,” and cared for, in Your loving arms of mercy! Amen
