Stay Responsive To The LORD

S. O. A. P

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Chronicles 34:27

Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before God when you heard what he spoke against this place and it’s people, and because you humbled yourself before me and tore your robes and wept in my presence, I have heard you, declares the Lord.

O-bservation:

Josiah became the King of Judah at age 8 and did right in Gods eyes. As he became a man he sent his associates one day into the old, battered down Temple of the Lord. One of the Kings men came back to report that he had found the “Book of the Law.” Josiah read it and freaked. He said, “God’s going to annihilate us, we haven’t been obeying His Word.” He sent them to meet with the Prophetess Huldah in Jerusalem to inquire of the Lord as to what He was going to do with them. She said … “Because you were RESPONSIVE to Me (speaking for the Lord) I will keep you all your days and you will die in peace, never seeing any of the future atrocities that I’ve predicted.”

A-pplication:

I just wonder how many atrocities we could avoid if we would just stay RESPONSIVE to Jesus? We are responsive to the news of the day, the weather, the demands of our children, our jobs, and our friends. But today the word is … “Stay RESPONSIVE to the Lord!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I hate to start the day with repentance, but I have to admit I have a lot of other stimuli around me demanding my response. Today I repent for all of that. I want to be responsive to you Lord. Perhaps like Josiah I could forgo a few atrocities in my life. Amen
