Stay Joyful

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Acts 13:50
But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region.

On their first missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas traveled to a place called Pisidian Antioch. While there, a true revival broke out so that most of the city was in attendance. This caused the Jewish leaders to be worried, and so they got the rich folks in town to bring persecution upon these men of God. Paul & Barnabas shook the dust off their feet, but as they left, the scripture says, Paul and Barnabas were filled with JOY and the Holy Spirit.

When I read this passage, I always hear a voice in my head saying, “Stay Joyful!” Sometimes you feel like you’re having a bad day, but these men of God were persecuted and thrown out of the city by the city officials, and they were Joyful the whole time. Whether it’s money, family, work, or sickness that you may be challenged with today, remember to just “Stay Joyful!”

Dear Jesus,
This am I’m thinking about my friend who is reading this devotional. I’m sure they may be saying, “It’s Hard to stay Joyful, Rich!” But please, Lord, remind them that Joy is still a personal choice. Amen
