So There You Have It

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Romans 1:17

For in the Gospel the righteousness of God is revealed – a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

O-bservation:

Here’s an explanation from Paul on how “Followers of Jesus” should live. The fact is, the gospel reveals a way of living that pleases God, and it starts and ends with faith. The Apostle, in a very definitive way, says, “The righteous will live by faith.” Nothing more and nothing less … “So There You Have It.”

A-pplication:

I love this title because as a young child, whenever my Father would make an uncompromising statement, he would then say, “So There You Have It!” It is true that faith without works is dead, but it seems like the big issue many people grapple with is lifeless religion. They feel the need to go through the works or acts of being recognized as a religious person, but they leave FAITH out. Faith is scary. Faith gets out of the boat. Faith says, “We ought to obey God rather than men.” Faith says, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Faith screams, “Lazarus come forth!” Faith is what makes “Your Faith” come alive. That is why the Apostle said, “The righteous will live by faith.” We’re not talking about dead religion. No! We’re talking about vigorous energized life fueled by faith in God! “So There You Have It!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You that You have energized my life with faith that is from You. This Faith has helped me move out in victory. Without faith I’d be hopelessly stuck to the couch. I love You Lord. Amen
