Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Chronicles 5:14
And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.
O-bservation:
The temple that Solomon built for the Lord had finally been completed after seven years of work. At that point, the “Ark of the Covenant” was brought into the temple. As the priests who were ministering began to play their instruments, great praise went up from the people and the glory of the Lord so filled the temple that a cloud representing the presence of God made it impossible for the priests to continue to perform their service.
A-pplication:
Several times in the Old Testament, the “Glory of The Lord” so filled the temple that normal exercises were suspended. I believe something similar happened in the New Testament on the “Day of Pentecost.” There have been times in my life where the presence of The Lord, in a prayer meeting or a time following the service at the altar, was so inundating that I somehow felt lost in HIS presence. I actually believe I saw the “Glory of The Lord.” Those times in my life have been benchmarks that I can never forget. Because of the possibility of witnessing the “Glory of The Lord” again … I Press On. Since I have experienced it, I can never walk away into another kind of “Life Calling” because I know this is real. Here’s my question … “Have You Seen HIS Glory?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I need You this AM. I pray that today would be a demonstration of Your Glory in my life “kind of day.” I’ve seen Your Glory and I want more. Amen
