S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Revelation 3:1
These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.
O-bservation:
The Apostle John now gives revelation from the Lord to the Fifth of the Seven churches of Asia Minor. This church was located in Sardis. John said the church at Sardis had a reputation of being alive, but the Lord said through John, “I see you are Dead.” The next verse says … “It’s time to wake up!”
A-pplication:
Most of us, if not all of us, have tried at one time or another to promote something about us As Truth … when all along it wasn’t True. This church perhaps had a great marketing campaign that reached across all of Asia Minor. It said … “The Sardis Church is full of activity, excitement, and happiness. You have to be here and experience “Real Life.” But Jesus looked beyond the glitz and the marketing to the Heart of the Church and it had … “No Heartbeat.” The way they saw themselves and the way Jesus saw them were Polar Opposites. “How Do You See Yourself?” What are you putting out there? What does the media department of your soul promote? Make sure the inside of you is fully alive in Jesus. Make sure you’ve got your heart right, your armor on, and the “Sword Of The Spirit” (God’s Word) in your hand.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
The passage this AM has caused me to examine my heart. I need to run far away from the show into a quiet place with YOU. I need to make sure my heart is still truly beating for YOU and for people! Amen
Comment (1)
This morning, I was reflecting on the difference between my soul and my spirit. I invoqued the Holy Spirit and this conversation went aloud: “My soul are my will, my intellect and my emotions. I have the will to follow Christ, I have knowledge in the Gospel of Jesus and I have no fear of the enemy schemes. In the other hand, I can have the Spirit of God connected to mine and there, I am born again. The spirit of death is of the devil and some are still dead because of their choice.”
