Satan Has Nothing On Forgivers

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Corinthians 2:11

In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

O-bservation:

Leading up to this passage, “The Great Apostle” promoted forgiveness to even the worst offenders. And Paul wraps up his directive to the people of Corinth in this short verse by saying, “If you don’t forgive, Satan himself will have won the day, because his evil scheme is one of Bitterness over Forgiveness.”

A-pplication:

I have found Forgiveness to be the greatest antidote to Satan’s evil scheme of Bitterness. When I was little, I had to weed the garden in the spring and summer. There were times that I was in a hurry and would just rip off the tops of the weeds. But my father would scold me and say, “Son you have to pull up a weed from its roots or it will grow back quickly.” Forgiveness pulls Bitterness up by its roots. Forgiveness costs something initially, but it is a lasting solution to Bitterness. Any other attempt to free oneself from the doldrums of Bitterness, separate from Forgiveness, will fail. Just like me, I’m sure there are times when you don’t want to forgive—but do it anyway. Because … “Satan Has Nothing On Forgivers.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

First off this AM, I want to say a huge thank You for Your continual forgiveness of me. Because You have led the way, I can forgive as well. Amen
