RESOLUTELY

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Luke 9:51
As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.
O-bservation:
Jesus was finishing up His amazing ministry on earth, where he showed the love of the Father in the flesh. He gave the Sermon on the Mount and taught that forgiveness keeps a person free of bitterness, which rots one’s soul. He raised the dead and worked just about every lesser miracle one can imagine. However, He had one more thing to do, and that was to be crucified. To do that, He would have to go to Jerusalem. When He went, He went there “RESOLUTELY!”
A-pplication:
The word RESOLUTELY means to do something in a determined and unwavering manner. In no way, shape, or form did Jesus look forward to this event. In fact, since before the foundations of the world were formed, it had already been determined that Jesus would die for the sins of humankind. Can you imagine that in your sights for thousands of years? And finally, the scripture says that Jesus did not go to Jerusalem slowly, hesitantly, sadly, doggedly, or angrily. NO! When He went to Jerusalem to die, He went RESOLUTELY! What is it that you know you’ve got to do? What is it that you know God has told you to do? Whatever it is, do it the way our Lord did it. Do it RESOLUTELY!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
You are my Lord and Master, and the one who has shown me how to do Your will, even when it’s tough. With Your help, I will follow You RESOLUTELY! Amen
