Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
O-bservation:
According to the Apostle Paul, we were not born for our own will and purposes. Rather, we were made by God’s own hands to do specific “Good Works” and deeds here on earth, which God set in motion for us to do before we were born.
A-pplication:
Even though God has made us for His purposes, He has also given us a “Free Will.” That makes us unique above all creation. With this “Free Will,” there is the potential for any and all of us to do a whole lot of crazy things that were not originally planned by God for us to do. I personally know murderers, thieves, mobsters, and sex traffickers who are now leading exemplary Christian lives, changed by the grace and power of Jesus. Some of them are actually preaching the gospel! Through the years, I’ve had a chance to meet and interview many such people. Most of them said, “There came a point in my life where I kind of woke up and remembered that I was not put on the earth to do this.” Just like the “Prodigal Son,” they woke up and remembered who they are in Jesus. So this AM don’t forget. Instead, always … “Remember Who You Are.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You that the day I was born You had a plan and a purpose for my life that I would do good works. With Your help, I will fulfill what You have planned for me to do. Amen
