I Am Ready To Lead

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 119:79a

May those who fear you turn to me.

O-bservation:

At this stage of his life, David had learned some “Hard Lessons.” Some had come through rejection, others through battle, and still others through his own personal failures. Throughout all of it, he wanted God more than life itself. In this lengthy chapter, David was so intent on serving the Lord wholeheartedly that he put himself OUT THERE. He said, “Lord if people fear You, have them come to me. I will lead them.”

A-pplication:

This is such a powerful passage that it leaves all of us, thousands of years later, asking ourselves … “Am I Ready To Lead?” Hundreds of years after King David made this statement to the Lord, St. Paul told the new Christians at Corinth, “Follow me as I follow Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). Here were two men who were ready to LEAD. They didn’t just lead by example, they said, “Hey, I’ll show you the way to Jesus. Follow me.” We live in a world of finger-pointing and blame projection and an unwillingness for people to say, “If you’re not sure what direction to go, follow me. I’ll show you the way, I’ll follow up on you, and I’ll hold you accountable.” No one had to ask King David or St. Paul if they were ready to Lead. May we, like them, step up and say … “I Am Ready To LEAD.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, it is my goal to live in such a way that no one will wonder where I’m going. I Am Ready To LEAD. Amen
