S. O. A. P.
Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Exodus 25:1, 2
The Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.
O-bservation:
It was God’s desire that Moses and the people of Israel would build Him a mobile sanctuary in the wilderness. In order for the people to do this, God required an offering from them. God told Moses to ask the entire nation of Israelis for an offering, and that a certain group would feel “Prompted To Give.”
A-pplication:
Here are the facts: Only 5% of all “Followers of Christ” tithe their income back to the Lord. 80% of North Americans give 2.5% of their income to some charity during the course of a year. So, just like in the days of Moses and the Israelites in the wilderness, there is a call going out from heaven to all “Followers of Jesus” to bring an offering to the Lord. But only a “few” in comparison to the “whole” will feel “PROMPTED To GIVE.” It’s remarkable that most of the CHARITY around the world comes from Christians! And yet, the “heavy load of love” that is dispensed around the world each year is shouldered by a relatively “Small Team” that just feels prompted. When it comes to bringing an offering to the Lord, the question remains … “Are YOU Prompted?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I thank You this AM for laying Your life down for all of humanity, me included. It still is the greatest GIFT ever given in the history of the world. I just want You to know that because of Your gift I will always feel “PROMPTED.” Amen
