Praise Money

S. O. A. P

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 96:8

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts.

O-bservation:

King David was absolutely nothing if he wasn’t a “Praise and Worshipper of Almighty God. Yes he was a leader of leaders, a warrior, a poet, a musician, and a family man, but most of all he was a “Praise and Worshipper.” Somehow David knew “his place” and it wasn’t “God’s Place.” He said … “When you come into the courts of the Lord to praise Him, bring an offering.” Usually today, in Western Society, an offering is not a Turtledove, Lamb, or Ox. No, it’s cash. Praise God with your money.

A-pplication:

I hear people berate the church on a regular basis saying things like … “All that church wants is my money.” These are the very people who don’t understand the value of Praise and Worship. They believe there are only certain places money should go. ie: racetracks, bars, grocery stores, Wall Street, and other kinds of places that tend to build up the praise of oneself. In other words it’s all about ME. Making me happy. Building up my joy, my brand, ME. But these same folks don’t believe money should go to church. However, the Greatest King who ever lived, David, never entered the Courts of the Lord without some “Praise Money” to add to his worship of the One True God. He knew his place and it wasn’t “God’s Place.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Whatever You have given me is really Yours. You are my Source. Today I will praise You with singing and with words and with cash. Amen
