Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Ezekiel 37:3
He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, only you know.”
O-bservation:
The Lord took His Prophet Ezekiel to a valley filled with dry bones. The dry bones represented the decimation and dispersion of the Nation of Israel. When God asked him, “Can these bones live again?” God was speaking of the rebirth, restoration, and revitalization of the People of Israel. Ezekiel answered The Lord by saying … “Only GOD Knows.”
A-pplication:
You can say that you know what is going to happen in the future, but … You really don’t know. The news only reports on past and recent history. They’d like to think they know the future, but they really don’t know. If you’re not married and think you know who you’re going to marry, until it happens … You don’t know. You may think you know the job is yours, but until the contract is signed and you finish your first week with a paycheck … You really don’t know. You may think you have lots of years in front of you, but … You don’t know. You may think you know for sure that you’re in the “WILL,” but until the attorney reads it … You don’t really know. Here’s what’s important to know: “Only GOD Knows.” Here’s what I know … When I had no hope Jesus reached down and embraced me, loved me, and gave me life more abundantly. What’s next? “Only GOD Knows.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
The fact that You know about tomorrow and You’ve got me … Well that’s really all I need to know. But I will keep learning. Mostly history. Amen
