1 Timothy 5:25
In the same way, “Good Deeds” are OBVIOUS, and even those that are not OBVIOUS cannot remain hidden forever.
O-bservation
In the previous verse the Apostle Paul writes that a man’s sins precede him. It’s OBVIOUS, and those who try to cover their sins will be found out in time. Now in this passage, it’s true conversely that “The Good” a person does is OBVIOUS to all. And when a person’s “GOOD” is not immediately known, in time it will become OBVIOUS.
A-pplication
Most of us want our lives to count for “Good Causes.” Whatever we can add to “The Good,” we obviously are ready to participate in such endeavors. Our motivation is for The Lord. None of us are in this to be called a “Do-Gooder,” as if to say we had ulterior motives. And to prove this “The Good” that many people do isn’t discovered until after their demise. The truth is, “GOOD” is impossible to keep hidden forever. Years after Jesus had resurrected and ascended into heaven, Peter was preaching in the house of the gentile Cornelius. And in delivering his message he said … “Jesus went around doing “GOOD” (Acts 10:38). And now over 2,000 years after that fact, folks read that passage and think … “OBVIOUSLY!”
P-rayer
Dear Jesus,
I don’t ever want to be known as a “Do-Gooder.” But I want it to be done unto YOU so it will be OBVIOUS to all that he just does what his Savior did “OBVIOUSLY.” Amen
