Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Mark 15:2
“Are you the king of the Jews?” asked Pilate. “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
O-bservation:
These are the only words Jesus spoke before Pilate that are recorded in the “Synoptic Gospels” (Matthew, Mark, and Luke). John added a little more conversation between Jesus and Pilate, but certainly … “No Defense.” When Pilate asked Him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus simply replied, “That’s what you say.”
A-pplication:
Sometimes we say too much. At least I do. Our LIVES as “Followers Of Jesus” should be our defense against hurtful accusations. I’m not saying we should never hire an attorney to defend our cause, but I am saying sometimes we should keep quiet and let Our Heavenly Father do our DEFENDING for us. Jesus was going to die. He knew that. No amount of arguing with His accusers would change that. In the end, His quiet demeanor enabled us to LIVE LOUD in time. If Jesus is our Advocate today, we can be safe in offering … “No Defense.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Help me this AM to be quiet at the RIGHT time and LIVE LOUD for You ALL the time! Amen
