It’s Been Long Enough

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 2:2,3

Then the Lord said to me, “You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north.”

O-bservation:

In the first several chapters of Deuteronomy, Moses recounted the history, both good and bad, of Israel after leaving Egypt. In fact, according to verse 14, over 38 years had passed since they began wandering in the wilderness. Finally, in this passage the Lord said, “You have been wandering long enough, now turn north. It’s time to move toward your ‘Promised Land.'”

A-pplication:

The children of Israel took 40 years to make an 11-day journey. Why? Because they were convinced they had a better idea than the “Creator Of The Universe.” Finally, the old generation of people who had rebelled against God when the 12 spies returned had finally died off. God had said no one over 20 years of age will see the promised land, save Joshua and Caleb. As I said, one day the last one over 20 finally passed away and God said to Moses, “It’s Been Long Enough! Head north toward your “Promised Land.” If we’re not careful, we can get so caught up in second-guessing God that all of a sudden all of our “What about this?” and “What About that?” and “How come I had to do this?” can find us walking around in circles not really going anywhere. What about it today? “It’s Been Long Enough!” Lay down your second-guessing and move toward your “Promised Land.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for freeing me from all my “What Abouts.” I know You know! So sometimes I don’t need to know, I just need to say YES! Amen
